Submission deadline June 1st 2022
We are just twenty years into this new century and changes in the global culture have begun to write a new chapter in human history. We have entered the “Urban Age”. A time when humanity is thinking more deeply about “urbanism and urbanization in genuinely global terms.” Humanity is questioning the “role of cities in the economic, political, cultural, and environmental processes shaping global change.”
The “urbanX Project” seeks to draw together a diverse collection of non-fiction stories and artistic expressions that speak to global urbanism for our Fall 2022 anthology. We explicitly seek submissions that explore the concerns and triumphs of everyday life from cities around the globe.
Our research acknowledges six themes prevalent in the dialogues of a the world major global cities. With increasing frequency the following urban issues are trending:
- Inequality,
- Community,
- Gentrification,
- Environmental & Climate Concerns,

The “urbanX Project” is accepting submission primarily from urban writers and street artists that address these issues.
